01  ·  Why this matters

Most people don’t track how much time they spend on hair removal — until they add it up. The shaving every other morning. The wax appointments that slot themselves into the calendar. The ingrown hairs, the irritation, the constant low-grade maintenance of skin that you never quite get to leave alone.

Laser hair removal isn’t about vanity. It’s about reclaiming the time and attention you’ve been quietly handing to a routine.

At Restart Medical, our laser system targets the follicle directly — disrupting growth at its source rather than treating the surface. The result, after a structured course of sessions, is skin that is smoother, calmer, and considerably less demanding to live with.

02  ·  The treatment

Targeted, follicle-level precision.

Our laser delivers a carefully calibrated wavelength of light that’s absorbed by the pigment in the hair shaft and conducted down into the follicle. The follicle’s growth cycle is interrupted — permanently for some hairs, for an extended period for others — without damaging the surrounding skin.

An integrated cooling tip protects the surface throughout the pulse, which is why most clients describe the sensation as a brief warm snap rather than the sharp sting of older systems.

Up to 90%
Typical Reduction in Active Hair Growth Achieved across a full course of 6–8 correctly-spaced sessions. Individual results depend on hair colour, skin type, area treated, and adherence to the recommended schedule.
03  ·  Why Restart Medical

Clinical-grade lasers, uncomplicated experience.

High-street salons and medical clinics use very different equipment. Here’s how we’re structured.

Medical-Grade Equipment

Diode and Nd:YAG laser platforms designed for clinical use, not retail beauty rooms.

05  ·  How a session works

Step by step.

From your first consultation to long-term maintenance — a clear path, no surprises.

  1. 01

    Consultation & Patch Test

We map the areas you’d like treated, review your skin and medical history, and run a small patch test 24–48 hours before your first full session.

Step 1: Consultation & Patch Test
  2. 02

    Skin Prep

You’ll arrive with the area clean-shaven 24 hours prior. We cleanse and apply a thin clear gel to optimise laser conduction.

    Step 2: Skin Prep
  3. 03

    Calibration

Energy levels are dialled in for your Fitzpatrick skin type, hair colour, and the specific zone being treated. Settings are recorded so subsequent sessions can be tracked.

    Step 3: Calibration
  4. 04

    The Treatment

A handpiece glides across the area in slightly overlapping passes. The cooled contact tip presses gently against the skin during each pulse. Most clients describe it as a warm snap.

    Step 4: The Treatment
  5. 05

    Cooling & Soothing

Post-pulse, the area is cooled and a calming serum applied. Mild redness, similar to brief sunburn, is normal and usually settles within a few hours.

    Step 5: Cooling & Soothing
  6. 06

    Schedule & Aftercare

Your next session is booked at the right interval for your hair cycle (4–8 weeks). You leave with a written aftercare plan and direct contact for any post-session questions.

    Step 6: Schedule & Aftercare
06  ·  What to expect

What results can you realistically expect?

01

Visible Reduction From Session 2–3

You’ll start to notice slower regrowth and finer, sparser hairs after the first two or three sessions.

02

Up to 90% Reduction Across a Full Course

Most clients achieve substantial long-term reduction once a full 6–8 session course is completed at correct intervals.

03

End of Ingrown Hairs & Razor Burn

The chronic skin irritation that comes with shaving and waxing simply fades away as treated follicles stop producing.

04

Smoother, Calmer Skin Texture

With less mechanical irritation from blades and strips, the surface of treated areas often looks and feels noticeably calmer.

05

Time Reclaimed

The weekly admin of shaving, waxing, and salon appointments gradually drops out of your routine.

06

Long-Term Maintenance Is Light

Once your course is complete, most clients return for one or two top-up sessions per year — and that’s typically all.

07  ·  Is it safe?

Clinical standards you can trust.

Laser hair removal has a 30+ year clinical track record. Here’s what we do to make sure your sessions are as safe as they are effective.

i

Patch Tested First

A small test pulse is run 24–48 hours before your first session to confirm settings suit your skin.

ii

Skin-Type Calibrated

Energy and wavelength are tuned to your Fitzpatrick type, not a default setting.

iii

Eye Protection & Cooling

Protective eyewear and integrated contact cooling are used for every pulse, every session.

iv

CQC-Aligned Protocols

Hygiene, consent, and clinical record-keeping aligned with UK CQC standards across both sites.

“Calibrated to you, not to a default. Every pulse, every session.”

09  ·  FAQ

Frequently asked questions.

Does it hurt?

Most clients describe the sensation as a warm snap, similar to a flicked elastic band. The integrated cooling tip means it’s noticeably more comfortable than older laser systems and most waxing.

How many sessions will I need?

A typical course is 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the area. Hair grows in cycles and laser is only effective on hairs in their active (Anagen) growth phase, which is why the spacing matters.

How permanent are the results?

Laser hair removal is best described as long-term hair reduction rather than permanent removal. After a full course, most clients see up to 90% reduction in active growth, with light yearly maintenance keeping results stable.

Can I have it on any area?

Yes — face, underarms, arms, legs, back, chest, bikini line and intimate areas can all be treated. We use private rooms and the same clinical standards across every zone.

Does it work on all skin types?

Modern systems treat a wide range of Fitzpatrick skin types when calibrated correctly. Very fair, white, or grey hair contains too little pigment for laser to target effectively, so a consultation is the best way to assess suitability.

What should I do before a session?

Shave the area 24 hours before, avoid sun exposure for at least 4 weeks prior, and skip retinoids in the days before treatment. We’ll give you a written prep checklist after your consultation.

Is there any downtime?

No formal downtime. The treated area may look slightly red, similar to mild sunburn, for a few hours. You can return to normal activity straight away — just avoid hot showers, saunas, and direct sun for 24–48 hours.

Can I have it during summer?

Yes, but you’ll need to be careful with sun exposure. We avoid treating tanned skin and ask you to use SPF 50 daily on treated areas for the duration of your course.

How much does it cost?

Pricing is based on the area being treated and the number of sessions in your course. We provide transparent, fixed pricing at consultation — no hidden fees, no surprise upgrades.

How do I get started?

Simply book a consultation or call 07506 689894. We’ll assess your suitability and map out a session schedule that fits your hair type and skin.
